SBF Shipbuilders Australia established in 1977 and a leader in aluminium designed vessels has recently purchased land in Batam Indonesia. Ensuring their continuation in their world renowned reputation of producing the highest quality of superior performance vessels, that has come custom to clients of some of the world’s highest profile in the Marine industry.

Supply and demand for SBF Shipbuilders in the early 2000’s to today have been extraordinary with the last few years resulting in extensive research undertaken by the Directors to find the best location to expand the Australian shipyard.

With various locations considered, Batam Indonesia was selected in early 2008 for its central location, closeness to Singapore ensuring easy access for clients and material, ample supply of experienced labour, land area and water frontage all to ensure these benefits are passed on to previous, current and new clients within budget and on schedule.

SBF Shipbuilders are mindful of upholding the same Australian standards and will ensure a quality control program is implemented and maintained. All design work and development will continue to be carried out from SBF Australia.

The Batam shipyard due for its first production in early/mid 2009 is positioned on the West of the island in Senimba Bay. Covering an area of 60,000sqm with 100 metres of water frontage this new state-of-the-art shipyard will have a 3600sqm main building hall in its first year with the capabilities of producing Passenger ferries, Crew/Supply, Fishing, Mini-cruise ship, Tugs, Pleasure, Coastguard, Search & Rescue and Military vessels in monohull and catamaran designs in its first year. Boat lifting and ship repair will also play a part in the early development of this new venture. This will provide strong and readily accessible support to SBF’s clients in the region.

SBF Shipbuilders have various vessels currently under construction at the Australian shipyard and are taking orders for vessels to be built in Batam already.
